Title: Evox M8_16 - Eject On Reset Fix?
Post by: Evil Ryu on October 11, 2004, 12:00:00 AM
Call me a n00b, but I've been unable to find a way to disable the eject on reset for the M8_16 bios. I don't know if I'm blind, but I can't find the option in EVTool. Could someone point me in the right direction? Is it a separate bios altogether - or can you patch the original M8_16 bios?

Thanks

1. Edit the proper official M8 bios with EVtool to your liking
2. Unpack the edited bios
3. Hexedit the resulting kernel.img: at file offset 0x1f687 there are bytes FF FF FF 00. Change to FF FF FF 80
4. Pack the hexedited kernel with EVtool

You'll have to repeat this every time you want to edit the bios because of EVtool's kernel checksuming. There's a hacked EVtool in metoo-m8pack-v1.2 with the check bypassed.
