Title: 4981 Slow Boot, No Dvd Drive
Post by: mrright01 on September 20, 2004, 09:38:00 AM
i'm still getting a slow boot and flashing red leds when i boot b/c there is no dvd drive connected. i'm doing an external dvd that will not be connected 90% of the time. what's the best way to do this? i was told edit the bios to not load from dvd first. so i edited with xbtool(and i opted for larger f drive, and changed boot colors), i deleted the dvd drives xbe from the list. is this all i have to do? thanks for the help

no bumping allowed, this is go carts, not bumper carts

but flashing red is an error that has to do with a messed up eeprom

i meant, don't yell at me b/c i bumped the same day!

but back to my question, if i don't use the animation, should i delete the xbe for the dvd drive in xbtool?

and i doubt it's my eeprom, it goes away when i plug the dvd drive in.

yes i did, and i'm just making sure i'm following you. i turned the animation off. but someone else said i should remove the dvd from the boot order in xbtool. were they correct? or shoudl i put the dvd's xbe back in its spot in xbtool?
