First thing i would do is make an evolutionx (or other dash) boot disc, this will give you a FTP from the disc, you can log in and check your C:\ and if need be transfer a new copy of evox over.
I doubt you need to reflash your modchip.
Flashing your mod with a newer bios should not erase anything on any partitions, (just take due care and attention with the LBA48 versions of bios')
