I modded a friends xbox.worked fine. Flashed with 4977.One day it decided to just start up to the cromwell screen. dont know what happend there. So i try to install 4983.67 and it reads the disk... flash procection off. and i get the error erase failed after it shows i guess the disclamer ( Dont turn off xbox before its done blah blah) but no progress bar shows up. took it apart a few times checked everthing and its fine. the xbox still works normally with chip disabled. Using the dvd-r ritek g40 i belive anyway they work just fine. The bios is 512k what im trying to install. The flah process starts fine it says found bios.bin and below that it says bios found :Am29f080b 1024k (01 d5) so that means the chip is full? what do i need to do? im new to reflashing! if needed
