Title: Difference Between Uxe And Ude?
Post by: xpdition03 on December 06, 2004, 06:17:00 PM
What's the difference between UXE and UDE?

I see MA 1.8 has UXE and MA 1.7.5 has UDE.

When I tried to install UXE it did not install evox but when I used UDE it installed EVOX fine.

MA1.8 UXE installs MXM I believe.  Nothing wrong with it, it's what I use.

Yes, it installs MXM but when everything is done and I reboot the xbox, it boots straight to itools.  Is itools the dashboard and I can run my games and apps from there?  Or do I still need to install a dashboard like Evox?

UXE is the same as UDE only it works also on newer xboxes therefore UXE is the most used exploit nowadays. As for you booting to ltools  try booting with your power button instead of your eject button.

Is there a tutorial on the options I need to choose when using UXE? That's probably where I screwed up because when I use either the power button or the eject button it boots to itools.

Also, can I use UXE for any version of the XBOX?

yeah UXE works on any xbox. And I dunno about instructions for ltools I think all selections are based on personal preference. It seems something went wrong with your install.

That IS the dashboard.  But it's a skin.  And an ugly skin at that.

Hit the "Y" button to bring up the options menu (this had me puzzled as well) and you'll be able to find the section for changing skins...VOILA!

Hope this helps.

I use the Simplicity Remix skin that comes with Ltools 1.8/MXM

You can also get the dashpack from the usual places, and use that to install UnleashX, EvoX, Avalaunch, and whatever else comes in it.

I know the usual places np , but I look for anything called Dashpack and I am at a loss.
I am new to Exploit methods and would like to try out some other dashboards.
Anyhelp to go in the proper direction would be appreciated.

Thx in  advance

You're probably thinking of Ltool_dashes. You should find it the same place you found the UXE package.

so, if that's the dashboard then will I be able to view my games and applications?

Does it work like evox where I just FTP into my xbox and transfer games and apps to the f:\games and f:\aps directory and I'll see the games and aps automatically in the dashboard?
