Post by: Mikea316 on February 23, 2004, 08:39:00 PM
Ok can someone explain to me why I can play silent scope 2 with the light gun with m7 bios running and no problems. but if I try to use 4981 the light gun will not work??  I like the 4981 bios but I have problems with this game if I use it??

based on my observations my light gun (joytech sharpshooter) wont work with silent scope running on 1.5 xboxes

it detects the light gun,  but it wont detect the movement of the gun.
on calibration, it wont even let me shoot, but the all the buttons on the gun works,  trigger, back, b, y, etc.

im using 4981.06
ive tried all brightness setting combinations , still wont work

tried it on 2 xbox 1.5s

============================

however when tried on 2 xbox 1.3s, the gun works properly on silent scope

============================

* gun works on hotd3 both on 1.3 and 1.5

Go with 4981.  It has built in IGR and in my experience, is just better (watching other people have issues with M7 and EvoX in general).

Also, the X2 team seems a bit more involved in the scene, plus you can't beat how they disabled live access.  ;)

i have to agree with heinrech, with the 4981 bios i have had nothing but drama.  I am running evox by the way.  With the xecuter bios i could not run gta vice city and neogenesis and various other emus would freeze in the middle of the games.  once i switched to m7 its been smooth

I've had nothing but problems with X2 new bios, I use M7, never used live and I have a reset switch inside my memory card so I don't use IGR anyway.

Vice City & Fifa 2004 refused to load on my xbox 1.1 and on my brothers xbox 1.5 but loads fine on a friends xbox. All because it doesn't happen to you doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I've had a total of zero issues with 4981.  I use IGR all the time and am running Avalaunch.  So 4981 is the only way to go for me if I want IGR.

Assuming you have a chip with at least two banks, I guess you are going to have to flash one with M7 and one with 4981.

how do you flash both banks with bios?

by using flashX (not xflash) and using two 512k size bios.

If you need an alternate bios for just a few (or one) games, maybe you could try running Phoenix Loader for them.  Most chips have multiple banks, but in the event you have a TSOP flashed, PBL may be the way to go.
