Title: Some Games Not Working
Post by: elfey1 on February 10, 2004, 11:08:00 AM
hey ppl, i have a x2 4977 bios and it is altered using xbtool so it can utilise 300GB (not that that should make a difference) but anyway, i cannot get R63 or Burnout 2 to work when running from the HDD, although they work from the discs. anybody got any ideas - should i update bios?

by the way i run newest MXM version if that makes a difference.

sounds like a bad copying job, try updating bios to the newest one.

is your network cable plugged in when trying to play r63?  I had problems with that bios and playing LIVE enabled games with the cable plugged in.  Delete the dashupdate.xbe's and upgrade your bios to 4981.  These fixes got my r63 running every time.

ill give that a go - R63 is weird, cus i can play the training mission and then it freezes on the loading screen of the first mission, by the way, i have already deleted dashupdate so it wont be that. - but ill try removing the network cable. thanx

QUOTE
BIOS Upgrade
Newer BIOS versions (Xecutor 4977 or later, Evox M7 or later) can auto patch games on the fly. This allows you to play backed up games on your modded Xbox even if they contain the media check.

as it says in the tutorial "Xecutor 4977 does it on the fly" - thats the bios i use, so shouldnt it autopatch it for me. Due to this, im guessing that there must be another problem, ill try re-transferring it tonite...just to make sure that some files didnt corrupt while i tranfered it last time.

Data corruption occurs with xbox on drives with volumes greater than 255GB.

technically thats not true, thats only if i dont use a G drive. I have a G:

also ive only filled 40Gig of it so that wouldnt happen yet anyway.

anyways. the games work fine now, i just retransferred them, after giving the discs a clean and its all good.
