Title: X2 4979.67 & Xbtool?
Post by: upup on December 07, 2003, 04:17:00 PM
hello, im wanting to flash my TSOP with 4979.67. but i wanted to change the colors of the xlogo and have it where there is no animation. so i downloaded xbtool from xbox-scene download page and extracked. i opened xbtool and tryed to open my 4979.67 bios but when i do every thing is grayed out and at the top it says unsuported kernel. so i thought it might would be the rc4 key or something so i opened a copy of pbl 1.3.5i's boot.cfg and got the rc4 key and inserted it into xbtool. but no luck. can 4979.67 be modified to my liking or can it not? thanks for the help
oh and also is that the correct rc4 key i used? i have not a clue about rc4 keys.

I've got the most up-to-date xbtool (1.0.12.b4) and I can't edit the 4979.06 BIOS either.

You need the 4979 repack from the "usual places" and xbtool 1.0.12.b4. You do not need to mess with rc4 keys.
I have customised about 10 x 4979.06 & 4979.67 without any issues.
Good luck
