Title: Easiest Way To Upgrade
Post by: thepro8 on September 29, 2003, 08:35:00 AM
I'm running evox 4976.02 on a Xecuter 2 lite. I have a 200 gig HD that is starting to get filled up and I was wondering what the easiest and safest way to get my bios to support the large hard drive. the reason I ask this is I know there are some options out there like the new beta bios, but i want something that is going to to work without problem and I also want input on which way to do it so I don't have a bad flash. I also don't know if I can do it with just the patch, or if I need 4977 and a patch or if I should just go to 4980.3. Thanks for the help guys.

well, it's apparent that you have an F: drive. if you don't want to lose data there, all you have to do is patch the BIOS (any) to "partition 6 takes up to 137GB/Partion 7 takes rest"

that way F: stays the same, while a new G: partition has the left over gigs
