how would this ruin the service?? its not gonna affect other gamers. What it is going to do is reduce lag, increase frame rates, lessen loading times = which means people can have more fun playing each other. I can see tho how hacks such as the halo hack could affect gameplay but I think that there will be very, VERY few gamers that do it so i wouldnt worry about it.

I think your mom must limit your allowance.  XBL is a kickass service.. but if you own the game.. you don't need to run it from the HD.

Go ask your mom for some more money.  Get an increase to $15.00 bucks a week.  Then you can buy one game per month.

If you think that loading a game from an original pressed DVD is creating lag on an online service with more latency and packet loss than an IDE bus could ever dream of, you're an idiot.  What a poor, poor excuse to pirate games...

The second you can run unsigned xbes on live is the second people can make hacks for live.
You might say you aren't going to do it, but I bet there are many of you here who would end up running the hacks anyways and ruin the service.

Happens to games all the time once they're no longer secure.  
So yes it does affect other people.
