The thing is that i bought it ready "chipped"? so actually i don`t know witch chip it is, except that it stands xecuter2on the screen when the xbox is booting up.
And the "flash protection" is there a easy way so disable that? Is there a easy way to find out witch chip i have actually do have "lite"? "pro"?, i know is a xecuter 2 tough..
In my system utilities uder BIOS it stands:
Bios version: Unknown
Kernerl version: 1.00.4974.01
Xbox hardware info: 00000003 A3 B2
Checked with Xbtool and i can verify the BIOS MD5 with xecuter2 pro bios 4974.
have the 4978fix bios on disk, so can i just flash now, or is there a flash protection on xecuter2 chip,.
I`ve read the Tutorial written by : Unreal7000, and checked as it stands there but it does`nt stand anything about xecuter2 and its flash protection..
Really hope that someone has some help, couse im a noob with bios. Since i bought it with the chip installed... Sorry for my "poor"/"bad" "not correct" english, i am norwegian, and not the "GOD" in english...

this doesn't guarantee that your chip is a x2
this will guarantee that you're using a x2 bios in the mod-chip
and since a cheap-mod can use the x2 bios
there's a probability that you're using a cheap-mod and a x2 bios in it

try opening you xbox and see the chip for your self...

first make sure that you're using a x2 mod-chip
because most cheap-mod only have 256kb bios space

I`ve opend my Xbox everything and took out the mainboard, but actually i did`nt know what to look for, but i did not see some chip or something that had the name Xecuter 2 or something.. But on the backside of the mainboard it was 5-6 small quadratic tape pieces,.
Is there supposed to be a chip soldered on or just soldering over something around the board and then connected to some LPT/LPC (or something/something) and then flashed..??
I never got wise on all the modchips/soldering/flashing thing... Sorry for beeing such a noob ass.. But actually i don`t have a clue..

How? Name on the chip, is the chip soldered on there.. Or what!!

Okey.. I`ve got an picture of what I think is my chip, or at least something, It could also be an controller thing or something, it`s some cables connected to it from where the controllers are, well see for your self, and guide me..

Look at the top of this picture almost in the middle, where these "green, white, red, yellow, black" cables comes out of where the controllers are on the outside... it looks like a ram"mem" chip..
and, I know the picture was a bit big...

Of course is from the xbox-scene, cause I don`t have a webcam, or any digital cam at home, so where else could i get a picture that looked like my box..
anyway, there are no chip in my box, it is likely TSOP flashed, and using the x4974 bios, and thats it.. Thats so lame, its supposed to have a xecuter (something1,2...) chip when i bought it from a guy, that had his xbox chipped, he tought... And since he did`nt use it to often, I bought it from him, cant belive that people announce that he`s installing the newest chips, and just TSOP flashing, and some x-4974 bios... thats bad...
well i don`t care to much, don`t use my xbox too often, but it would be nice with a chip,.. Thinking of maybe buy a xbox with chip installed from system-mods.com with a 10 gb disk and change the disk at home, save some money on that on...
maybe, I`ll just wait and see...
