| QUOTE (thomes08 @ Jul 22 2003, 04:23 PM) | you either need to do a hot swap... or buy a programmer. If you have the same chip as a friend then i would do a hot swap, but if you dont you're going to need to buy a programmer, they're only like 22 bucks with shipping and it works great if you can find a PC that it accepts. Also 4973 is an OLD bios and if you have an x2lite then you need a 1mb (1024k) bios not 256. get x2 4977 1mb
good luck |
Instead of blowing money on a programmer right away, I would suggest trying other solutions. Try flashing with the OZXFlash utility and the 4977 bios. If it doesnt load at all, There is another solution but it is only theoretical. If you have ur evox dashboard as xboxdash.xbe then simply turn off your modchip, and the xbox should boot to the evox dash. from there you can just flash the chip with the correct bios. Please note that this is theoretical and has not been tried. I'd appreciate it if someone could clear this one up for me. |
