Title: Changing Color With Xbtool 0.9.9...
Post by: P to the L on July 01, 2003, 10:07:00 AM
Hi,

I have read on the forums that in order to change the color and toggle On/Off the animation, splash logo etc. you have to edit a "virgin" Bios.  Why is that ?  Can't I just load up X2 4976.02 Bios and change the color, save the bios and flash my chip ? Same things goes for doing it on, let's say, a 4977 Red No Ani Bios ?

Thanks!

You don't need a virgin BIOS. Later versions of XBtool are smart enough to recognize a modified BIOS.

my expierences with xbtool sucked.  It gave me a bad flash on my chip.  If you dont know what you are doing i recommend leaving the bios alone unless you have a way to recover from a bad flash.
