Title: Dash Doesn't Show Up
Post by: gabvey on July 01, 2003, 04:26:00 AM
Ok first question... do you know what the f of x2_4974_blue_f.bin stands for ?
It means that it will boot on the F partition.
You only have a F partition if you format it explicitly. That is probably why the dash is not found
at boot time.

Other question, why use 4974 version. It's a kind of old ? Why not use the last 4977 and modify it with xbtool if needed ?

Thnx gabvey.. now i know why it doesn't find the dashboard. But do you know why the matrix does work with the x2_4974_blue_f.bin bios and doesn't work with for example the evox 2.6 bios.

Maybe you have a 1.1 or 1.2 xbox.
See http://www.xbox-scene.com/versions.php to check your version.

Evox 2.6 does not work with 1.1 (and 1.2 or 1.3) xbox.
You Need evox 3.6 (specific to 1.1) or evox D6 which is multi version.

Xecuter bioses are multi version since 4974.

See http://www.xbox-scene.com/bios.php for more informations.

But still, why do you use antics ? Go for the latest X2 which is 4977. And use xbtools to modify the bios as you wish (remove the initial animation, change the color of the X logo, change the color of the eject button led...).

You will be able to use the latest game without patching it (introduced with 4976).
