well avalaunch are working on detecting say avi's and other video formats and autolaunching xbmc (if you set xbmc as the default video player)- then if you enable all the autolaunch features in xbmc then when xbmc is launched it will automatically start playing the film

dunno if mxm is introducing the filename rcognition and autolaunching of xbmc- i guess thats something you need to ask the mxm team
