Yes, the player is based on MPlayer, probably one of the best media players out there. There is also a Windows port of it (or was last time I checked, maybe they dumped the idea
). If a media file won't play proper on your PC, you're probably using some POS player (like Windows Media Player, has problems with everything). Possibly try BSPlayer (www.bsplayer.org) for video files, it has been one of my favorites for at least a year now.
