i have the latest media player and it STILL fooking locks up when watching ANY video thru the network!! the video/audio just stops.

why why why

this did this with ALL other versions also.

it crashed after approximately 30-35 min's of play. EVERYTIME, EVERY movie.

please someone tell me there is a fix for this that i dont know about this is getting really annoying and making xbmp pretty much worthless to me.

Have you gone through your configuration file with a fine-tooth comb?  Could it be possible that the system is set to shutdown or turn on the screen saver after 30 minutes or so?  Are you sure it's not a problem on the PC end which leads to XBMP to crash?  There are a lot of variables to check out in this situation, but it's obviously not a horrible problem with the program itself since this isn't a common problem.  Maybe try using a standard config file (from the archive) and just modify for your network share; if it doesn't crash, assume it's a problem with your configuration.

Also, have you tried deleting the 007face directories in TDATA and UDATA.  Maybe these are causing a problem if you've ever updated.

007 directories ?? im not using any 007 files
i use bert and ernie reloaded with PBL 1.3.5i

unless you mean just delete the xbmp save file.

and i do have a standard config.
just added my network shares and ip address.

and what screen saver.. ?? the pc ? no i dont use one.  evox ?? dont apply to anything but evox. xbmp ?? xb,p dont have a screen saver. not that im aware of.

i just bumped the cache setting up to 16 megs still locks.
screensaver is set to 0 (disabled)


i fast forwarded to 30 min into the video and roughly 30 min later the video locked again.


so there is something about 30 min  like the actually xbox cache is not being cleared out.

and im not using the streaming server either, all im doing is using the "share"
windows share. the XNS setting ? i think thats correct.

man this is pissing me off cuz it never used to do that, i believe it was one of the last 2 cvs versions that this started.

please anyone have any ideas why this could be happening, i dont know THAT much about media player, all i can do is alter the ini a bit.

damn samba lol  ggrr i hate linux with a passion (only cuz i cant do anything but surf the web with linux haha)


damn i hate relax too cuz i had it running before and the TEST passed and the log showed that i had logged in (internal loopback test)
but everytime i tried my xbox it logged me in,, said it accepted the connection then isntantly killed the connection,, everytime,, so i said hell with it and went with the "windows style" share

Let me guess...

You have an older Xbox.

It occassionally locks up in explicably with some games too right?

yeeessss the new M$ games all lock for me,, damn fonts exploit anyways,, ill get a chip here soon,,

are the exploits known to be troublesome for XBMP .. but before you answer that,, remember i said this only started like the last 2 versions of media player,, so,, something within media player has changed.
