I did a search (actually many searches) and couldn't find anything but references to using xbmc as i mentioned and dvdx2 which is a windows app.

Since things are always changing in the world of technology, I can't imagine it hurts to ask if a solution has come around in the thread of an obscure post.

There is no solution for DVD menus - you can only play Vob files.  You can put them in a playlist for convenience.

dvdx2 which is a windows app.
.

Dvdx2 is for the Xbox, not windows. It's a region free DVD player that uses the controller and not the dvd remote.

bluemeany: On the Xbox there are 3.5 apps that can play DVDs.
The MS Dash, The tHC dash (counted at .5 because its a modded version of the MS Dash), XBMC, DVDX2.

Regarding the MS Dash/tHC dash, refer to your other post, I replied to that. XBMC will only run DVDs as you want from a DVD and only using the Thomson drive  mad.gif  . DVDX2 is closed source and last I knew the author dropped off the face of the Xbox.

Don't ask why XBMC can't play off the hdd (or Samsung, Phillips drives), it just can't. It's a new feature and hasn't been fully implemented yet. When it is it will be wink.gif
