Title: 06-24-03 Cvs Build (great New Look)
Post by: GoDKiLLaX on June 25, 2003, 03:00:00 AM
I got this build last night but didn't try because i didn't see a readme file with any changes. I don't know if it's worth switching if there isn't a features list. i'll just wait for todays dump

Apparently whoever compiled this version isn't the same person who's been doing it in the past. This explains why there's no readme and some files missing smile.gif

I couldn't unzip this file . . . i.e. double clicking it.  I had to RMC extract to . . .

It has cddb option in config.xml

<cddbserver>194.97.4.18</cddbserver>

xbmp_2.4_cvs_compile_xbins_6-24-03.txt

** If XBMP locks on startup, delete etdataface007system.bin and try again **

Note: This build is straight from the CVS - you will need to apply your own skin! (Unless you like placeholders)

IMPORTANT: I have noticed a problem on my PAL Xbox, and suggest that users of PAL Xboxes don't use the
Video options which are found under settings at this time! When selecting a PAL resoultion on
this menu, clicking 'set' and rebooting will prevent XBMP from loading (only in my experience).
I believe this is due to XBMP incorrectly writing to the Xbox EEPROM. I used the Enigmah Video
Selector and reselected PAL (even though it already reported PAL) and XBMP loaded fine again. If
anyone can confirm this to be a problem it would be nice.

** Updates since last CVS build 16th June 2003 **
06-23-03 <tuple>255,Ascending (A-Z)</tuple> and <tuple>256,Descending (Z-A)</tuple> added to lang1.xml
06-23-03 added sorting asc/descending (this will not work with xns)
06-22-03 fix bug preventing tuples >999
06-22-03 dont queue .nfo files & fix saving of decoder settings menu
06-21-03 bugfix for 4meg pixel pictures
06-21-03 added CDDB caching and setting for it to the config.xml
06-21-03 added "Force non-interleaved" to the settings (Mplayer -ni support)
06-20-03 looks like CDDB support was added
06-19-03 now you can sort MP3's by Tracknumber/Filename/Artist/Date/Title

Many thanks to those who support the Xbox scene and those who make fine releases like XBMP etc possible.
Hope some of you can use this 'extra' support (i.e. those who don't have access to the Xbox SDK).

Regards,
S0cRaTeS

P.S. Apologies for the incorrect build time in this release. It IS the latest CVS build, I just forgot to
change buildtime.h. It WILL be fixed in any future releases

Just tested it. CDDB works great  biggrin.gif
And it isn't a new look you just need to add a skin get one at allxboxskins.com

I had to calbirate the screen also to get a picture which isn't a big deal.

Now the only thing i would is to have the cd stop playing if you press eject. I know it's just one more step to stop the cd with the game pad but it would rule so much more if you could just press eject.

Yeah I see now. There is a new splash screen though. Still, if thats the way it looks without a skin, its a new look for me. I like it with the exception of missing icons.

How can all you people consider this a new splash screen? It says  "Placeholder" on it.

I installed this CVS build, couldn't get it to boot (just like a lot of people... tried everything.  I even deleted the system.bin file... no go.

Copied over my old copy, no go either.

What gives?  I can't get my xbox to run xbox media player now.... I'm a bit hosed at the moment.

I didn't delete the whole 0face007 folder... just the system.bin file.  Should I delete the whole folder?
