Title: Which Came First?

I ran across a demo of Windows XP Media Edition
and it looks alot like XBMP.
Just curious, if xbmp was based on it or
did M$ take their look from xbmp?

XBMP has nothing to do with m$

its based on libarys from mplayer from linux

that is just the skins and tb layout but all the source is based on mplayer and w00t you managed to write m$ my turn

yeah, so what came first?  can makers of xbmp say they pulled the design out of their ass?  can micro.soft?

i believe  micros0fts media center came first but xbmp is absolutly noting like it in code

the xbmp team or by M$.

He's not talking about code wise, no one even mentioned code    He's talking purely about looks. He's saying they both look to be "skinned" the same, or atleast very similar, so one must have copied the others look to a certain extent. So who copied who, thats all he's trying to ask if anyone knows.

Correct. Go to the forums at www.xboxmediaplayer.com. There it has been discussed before. Supposedly the XBMP skin was initially based on early Media Center screenshots. Or so the story goes...
