Well that is just not condoned here at tha scene, unless of course your friends own the games they are downloading from you, and if that was so then why would they be downloading them off you in the first place?? Watch what ya say in here

Many people just use the store setting when using winrar as waiting 40 minutes to compress 2 to 4 gigs only to save a few megs or so makes little sense.

Oops, just a slip of the tongue. I didn't mean "games" as in actual retail games, I just used the word to represent any kind of file... AVI's, MPEG, PICS, utils, etc.
Besides, games would be too big to be worth FTPing anyways.

evox doesent have this abilty if someone logs into and xbox they have full read write append privlages

I would never use evox as an FTP server. Not even sure if I can be configured as an internet FTP server.
Don't forget that I control the username and password and would only give it to people I trust.

I told evox to use a dynamic IP address instead of static IP. This way my router can automatically assign my XBOX an IP address. It ended up being 192.168.1.102
I used the router's IP address 192.168.1.100 as my gateway address in evox.
Next I used the Port Forwarding section in my router and told it to assign port 21 to the address 192.168.1.102 (xbox).
I then quickly set up the "filezilla server.xml" with a username and password (see the filezilla tutorial).
I ran xbmp and let it sit in the main menu. Done.
The FTP address for the xbox is my ISP IP address (65.48.xxx.xxx. etc). You can use www.whatismyipaddress.com to get your WAN IP.

And I don't know about you guys but I spent so much time configuring, upgrading, testing the xbox that I wouldn't want to restart from scratch.

And download the FZ server interface. You'll be able to watch (from a pc matching the mask) who are logged in on the xbox and what they are doing. You can add users from there and change settings etc...

Of course, but who cares. After all, it's just an xbox.
Besides, I switch hard drives in my XBOX as an extra precaution. All of my important data is stored on another hard drive.

Cool...
I got the server interface working. But I don't like the idea of keeping my computer on just to monitor the FTP server.
I tried to play around with the logfile and logsize options and couldn't get it to log anything. It would create a log file with today's date but it's just an empty .log file. Is there some kind of documentation relating to those option settings?

It's probably logging, you are just not allowed to read the file while the server is running. Try to transfer it with avalaunch/evox started instead. It looks like it's only logging startups though, not transfers (bug?) so it's really not useful. I don't know if there is more documentation than that on SF anywhere.
