press up/down on the remote or D pad i think to adjust the AV sync

just press up or down on the dpad. just keep going until they align themselves. once you try it, you will understand.

IIRC, the up down AV delay selection lets you delay the audio (or is it video) by 5ms or so. (Might be 50).
Whilst most people (not my other half though..) can spot when the sync is out, not very many can tell you whether its ahead or behind. Its kinda trial and error here...
A few of my divx files have a wandering sync, and this gets really annoying as at one point you're 1/2 second ahead, then a chapter later you're a half second behind.
I have found that a few glasses of wine and a nice chilled cider (preferably served with very little sleep) improves my tolerance, if not the accuracy.
