Title: Possible To Boot Xbmp As Dashboard From F:?
Post by: badbob001 on March 13, 2003, 12:45:00 PM
I'm trying to only keep my files on F: and keep C: and E: as clean as possible. So I'm running executor2 4974 bios hacked to run the dashboard off F:.

I've put XBMP 2.3 (3-12-03) in F:APPSXBMPdefault.xbe with all the other support files. I also have F:evoxdash.xbe, which is really XBMP renamed and F:XBOX Media Player.cut containing

<shortcut>
<path>Harddisk0Partition6appsxbmpdefault.xbe</path>
</shortcut>

But when I boot up, the system freezes at the xbox logo screen. Does XBMP support booting off F:?

Thanks!

I think you're giving yourself too much trouble for a file or two on your C: ...

You might want to check out the new bio released today, which lets you boot from any drive

badbob001,

you need to have that cut file on c, I have an e booting bios and had the same problem until I moved the cut file to c, put the other files on e.

Stick XMBP where u want it in ur folder...

then copy the /cut file and the defualt.xbe of XBMP past them into C:

then rename defualt.xbe to xboxdash.xbe and edit the .cut file so that it points to ur XBMP dir

I use 03-12-03CVS of XBMP and it works fine and great!
