i have the same problem only im running mine from a cd with the media on it

Are you both using EvoX or XBMP as your dash? If you're using EvoX, don't put the .cut file on your C drive.
I run EvoX and had XBMP 2.3 running fine, then realised the .cut file was missing. Found the .cut file and stuck it on the C drive, from then on XBMP didn't work. Got rid of the .cut file and XBMP started working again. As far as I can see, the .cut file is only if you want to use XBMP as your dash.

@Fuzzy:
Hi Fuzzy,
I posted a stripped version of my config.xml in this thread:
Stripped Config.xml
If you use this config (or add some shares, make sure you use your IP addresses etc.) you have a version that works from disc! I tested it with my full version, but I only removed a couple of shares in this config, so that doesn't make any difference...
I didn't add a movie but you can either swap the disc (if your mod chip supports that) or put it somewhere on the disc in a folder and go there with through the UDF folder... (tried to browse the DVD and could do it under UDF)
I just realized how do you make the disc?? Do you just burn it?? Or do you use GDFImage (or Isomaker)??? That is the way I did it and it works..
So:
- make a folder with the latest XBMP
- use my config.xml
- add another folder with your movie
- make an image with ISOmaker
- Burn it with Prassi Primo DVD (or Record Now Max or the latest Nero (I heard it works, didn't try though) (Prassi works also with CD-RW, it treats it the same)
- No .cut file on c:\ (didn't try if it matters if I put it there...
Now you'll have a working disc with movie, you can also swap if you want to play movies or mp3's from another disc...
Hope this helps you out..
Regards,
Cube

It was the cut file that was messing things up....too funny. That booted up xbmp fine, now all I have to do is look at my evox.ini and look where to place my movies...lol
thanks for the help guys!
