Title: Xbmp 2.2 Causing Frustration
Post by: feflicker on January 19, 2003, 04:49:00 PM
I think everyone is experiencing odd things with xbmp 2 in general... They are trying to work tons of new features into it, and in the process, they are creating bugs left and right. When the "revisions" are complete, I think the bugs will be gone, or at least kept at bay.
I personally think the new features are not worth the effort on their part. All I care about is codec support, and stability. They are taking this into the "dashboard" realm, and it is great if that is what you want, but horrible for those of us that just want a stable media player that can "play anything".
I just hope they keep working on the product as actively as they have been. With the help of the Yamp guys I think a perfect media player is right around the corner...

i really hate the font in xbmp 2.2. i'm sticking with xbmp 2.1. it still has lots of freeze bugs, but not as much as 2.0. plus, the font is a lot easier to read

I downloaded a XBMP 2.2 fix from #xboxsoftware and now things are working 10 times better. They also have a new splash screen you can download so you can gaze at 2.2 instead of 2.0
Same here at first a few bugs all becuase of the early release without the IGR fixed. Now Its flawless I have zip nadda no problems with it and relax 6.0. I think alot of users tried removing things to fix the new version and once they got hold of the IGR fix they created more problems for themselfs buy doing the mickey mouse hack.

yeh 2.0 works best in terms of doing stuff, 2.1 in terms of not crashing as much and 2.2 er well that doesnt seem to like my xbox too much shall we say lol. Chris
