Title: Change Splash Screen Size?
Post by: crusty_punk on April 17, 2012, 10:41:00 AM
I have a custom jobby that I am working on for a friend of mine for his birthday. I made a custom splash screen that he is absolutely going to love.

Is there a way to make it full screen? I dont care about the lag time and what not. I just want it BIG!!

Thanks in advance!
-Josh

I would also like to add that I have googled it and I cant find anything. Otherwise I wouldn't ask.

Sorry, I can't help - I didn't even know you could change the splash screen at all, which file is it that you change, please, so I can create my own boot screen?

if XBMC is your main dash:
e:\Dash (or dashboard)\media\splash.png

if XBMC is an app:
e:\apps\xbmc\media\splash.png

the dimensions are  721x401 and according to the official XBMC forums whatever resolution you make your splash screen image it will automatically be re sized to 1/4 the total screen size and centered.

To answer my own question, after sniffing around a little longer, One would have to know c++ and be able to compile the finished product on their own. The dev's will not help you.
