Title: Invalid Manufacturer Id 0xff - Help?

I've got *two* xboxes here that are exhibiting exactly the same problems. I thought that possibly the first one could be my poor soldering skills, so I took a great deal of care with the second one, and it does *Exactly* the same thing!

I'm booting the machine with an X-BIT Solderless chip, to get it into linux - I was trying to use EvoX to do the flashing, but it was doing exactly the same thing (0xff manufacturer id).

Is there an issue with lifting the X-BiT off the board? When the X-BiT is attached I get 09/00 (or something like that in EvoX) and it says, quite reasonably, that it can't be flashed.

The flash points are soldered properly. These are both new (< 2 months old) V1.5 Xboxes... I'm *guessing* that this means that the xbox can't read the programming info from the flash, but, it's out of my league. Hopefully someone with a bit more of a clue can help me out!

YOu can not flash a tsop after booting from an LPC mod.  The xbox can no longer 'see' the on board bios.  

Use the tut by the great LordVader to flash your tsop from an LPC mod.

Or use the 007AUFraincoat hack and do it that way.  An original copy of 007AUF is cheaper than the LPC chip!!  <
