Title: Tsop Flash By Hdd-swapping Question

Hi all,
sorry for not reading through all posts, this has probably been answered before but I got so many questions I figured its easy if someone with the knowledge just drops me a short reply.
Situation:
I got an modded and an new, unmodded xbox and wanna flash the TSOP. Without getting a memory card.
So here is my idea:
1) Put new xbox's HDD into modded Xbox
2) Boot evox from CD
3) Backup new xbox's HDD
4) Copy 007-savegame to new xbox's HDD
5) Put new xbox's HDD back into new xbox
6) Load 007-savegame and flash TSOP.

My questions are:
A) will this work (in theory, possible problems)?
B) Do all versions of 007-AUF and Mechassault work for this hack? How can I distinguish them if not (I live in germany)?
C) has anyone done this before?
D) Do you recomment leaving TSOP flashable

So far, all versions of MechAssault will work, for more info about 007 and the platinum hits version, check the bottom of my sig for a link on that information.

And there really isin't any problem with leaving the tsop flash enabled.

Thanks a lot, I guess the modded box should take a locked HDD, or are they locked to match a specific xbox?
A question about copying the save: what's the correct way to upload it via FTP?
Create a normal savegame first and then replace it with the hacked one?

Here's a tut that seems to work for people doing the hdd swap thing.

I haven't tried it so I dunno for sure if it works but give it a shot.

Ok, with Sheriff at the helm, we flashed a box with the font exploit to load PBL to flash a box.

Man it was a pain in the ass, but I can now safely say that it will work. Just remember that font exploits arn't enough, be sure and use PBL and a BFM bios to use evox to flash.

As far as the gamesave goes, it goes in the UDATA folder

so you got those two options now....

And all I can say is WooT Zedek!
With his help I finally have a modded v1.4 xbox without using 007!
I cant thank you enough Zedek! :lol: :lol: :D
Oh and as Zedek discovered you have to use Eurasia Flash Disk to flash a winbond in a v1.4 xbox not evox.

Thanks a lot for your information, it sounds like a very good idea indeed exspecially since it doesn't even require a game or memory module. I'm very keen on trying it myself. Just let me get this right: BFM = Boot from Media and PBL is the loader which loads it?
So I put in the font hack, load a BFM from there and then flash TSOP. The question is: why even flash it if you're loading a bios from disk anyway? Unless you want to change HDD of course... well I guess I found the answer by myself :)
