Post by: alexpb1 on February 08, 2006, 09:07:00 PM: if you have the eeprom just rebuild the C:\ using xboxhdm? If it wont even coldboot, then i guess get a modchip or rebuild the C:\ with xboxhdm.

Post by: krayzie on February 08, 2006, 09:33:00 PM: if you didn't unplug it then it should still coldboot games (put 007 in the drive before you turn it on).
also it might help if you toild which installer you used. An error 21 does not come up by itself.
Like sugested if nothing works you can always use xboxhdm to rebuild your hd. I'm sure you are a smart guy and backed up the eeprom. Otherwise it's hotswap time for you.

Bu if you dont have the eeprom it doesnt look like you will be using xboxhdm, it looks like you will be buying a modchip.

Post by: 47_M450N_47 on February 09, 2006, 08:00:00 AM: yeah from experience, if your softmod screws up, rebuild C: with xboxhdm, it makes things much easier than doing a hotswap or any of that stuff. after you are done do a TSOP flash and stop worrying about softmod problems, its much better trust me.

And about softmodproblems....there are only problems that you can cause by yourself. The problems that show up on the forums are from a vast minority of users.

i know that it is connected to the primary ide cable because it detects the hdd in the primary master slot in the bios before xboxhdm loads up.

also when i choose option 1 from the first menu and linux begins to load, it checks for the integrity of the partition table on the primary master and it sez there is an error reading it.

please help me i dont know what else to do!

Post by: jiveabillion on February 14, 2006, 03:07:00 PM: You can get another hard drive. might as well upgrade it to a bigger one. Use xboxhdm to build an xbox drive out of the new one, then use Liveinfo to load the eeprom and see what the hard drive key needs to be set to make the new drive work in your xbox. then lock the hard drive with that key and pop it in your xbox. it should load up like a new xbox. then you can re-softmod it.
