Start the Xbox by pushing the eject button.

Hmm...that doesn't appear to be working. I've tried both starting w/ the power button, and the eject button - still just boots to the standard BIOS. Is there anything else that may need to be done?

your chip isnt working right then. See how he installed the chip. often if they use pin header the chip falls right off of the pin header and all it needs is to be put back on. hopefully your d0 held as if it didnt you will have to solder. if he did a quick sodler then you might be screwed and have to solder it or return it to where you bought it from.

check your ide cable and the jumpers on the drive
