BUT when you solder the points as shown in the image, how do you put the chip in if you do the pinhead thing?

Do they need to be soldered with the pins of the chip? That's the only thing I would understand...

I belive mine is a 1.5, will i be required to do this when i recieve my chip?

Yes.
But really make sure you have a version 1.5-box. There are tons of posts in this and all the other forums around here just about this problem. so please check there.
