I don't understand how a chip is going to cause games to freeze. After the BIOS loads, the chip doesn't even factor in.

Xbit is actually released and playstationone.de's customers already received the chip (but they are only able to get it tomorrow assuming that today is Sunday), so Stranger22 is going to have the chip tomorrow.I live in France and I plan to receive it tomorrow or on Tuesday, wait and see...

what i have come to understand is that some games have problems running with bioses over 512k, but it has nothign to do with freezing, this guy is just soem idiot

Everything can be improved, thus there will always be something that will become better.
The X3 mod chip might be a better chip than Xbit, I don't know, but at this date, Xbit is the best on the market.
