Nice job ClintiePoo! Looks pretty clean. Pretty good for a first time, I know mine was a lot worse than that.
Thanks!
QUOTE(grim_d @ Jul 1 2006, 09:51 PM)
yeah paint looks good.
not too keen on the colours though, but whatever works for you! get some vent leds in there!!!
Thanks. I like the colors. I already had green front LED's and controller ports, so I wanted to stick with green. I like white xboxes. I think they go together well.
QUOTE(grim_d @ Jul 1 2006, 09:51 PM)
did you paint over the stickers?
...
QUOTE(NiC_CC @ Jul 1 2006, 09:53 PM)
nice xbox, pretty nice paint job. I like the jewel.
Thanks. I wish I could take a better picture of the jewel. I never can get a good one. It looks much better in person.
It's the same as my avatar, if you didn't notice.

A nice clean job

Thanks Sam.
QUOTE(DaShogun @ Jul 1 2006, 11:28 PM)
Nice did you make that jewel yourself?
I bought the jewel last summer off of eBay. I messed mine up, so I decided to get a custom one. I think it cost around $15 shipped.
QUOTE(Stratus @ Jul 1 2006, 11:57 PM)
Personally I don't like the colors, but the paint job is nice and clean.
Good job
I guess the colors aren't everyone's favorites. I like them. Thanks for the compliment.
QUOTE(no0b123 @ Jul 2 2006, 12:03 AM)
Great job. I do like the color scheme too! The custom jewel and bright led's is icing on the cake.
Sweet! Someone likes the colors. Thanks!
Oh, and I forgot to mention that this Xbox has a LED fader from sickmods.net. If you look closely in one or two of the pictures, the front LED's are lit but the jewel and controller ports aren't.

QUOTE(MickRaider @ Jul 2 2006, 12:41 AM)
Haha that's funny. When I first painted my xbox I wanted to use those exact same colors. But at the time I couldn't find the green that I wanted so I ended up using a chameleon green and white.
Looks real good though.
Thanks guys!

Photo whore lol
I like the colors. Nice work with the leds. As Grim D said, add some side vent and maybe underglow and you'll be pimpen
Nice work
I used to have side vents and underglow in it, but they were poorly done. I ripped all that out when I painted it and started over. I might do it again.
QUOTE(War_Machine @ Jul 2 2006, 12:58 AM)
i like the jewel, havnt really seen too many actual custom ones...3-d either
The jewel is cool. It sort-of sets it apart from other xboxes.
QUOTE(SICKdimension @ Jul 2 2006, 01:02 AM)
Flawless! Good job.
It's not quite flawless, but it's as close as I chose to get it. There are a couple of things I could have done better. But if you guys can't see my mistakes, I guess I did a pretty good job.
Thanks again for the help with the resistors SICK.
QUOTE(Dracc @ Jul 2 2006, 02:39 AM)
Where did you get the jewel from? Because I am just starting on my friend's box and I need a very specific custom jewel, and yours looks fantastic. Also, SOLID paint job. If you could, PM me with the jewel details, eh?
The jewel came from eBay, in an auction such as this. They take any design and laser etch it into a piece of acrylic. I think some designs work better than others.

You did that and you dont consider yourself a painter? Good job dude.
I appreciate that!
QUOTE(R8zerBlade @ Jul 2 2006, 09:34 PM)
Very nice job. I like the jewel and the lighting. The Fan light was a nice touch. I put a blue one in one of mine then realized i could never see it where i had it sitting
The fan is cool (no pun intended), but you're right. No one ever sees it. It just puts a green hue on the wall.
QUOTE(Mettalikman873 @ Jul 2 2006, 09:36 PM)
I love that paint. Solid > everything.
Wow, thanks. Krylon Fusion seems to work pretty well. It's solid due to a few weeks working off and on painting and sanding.
QUOTE(EverestX @ Jul 2 2006, 10:07 PM)
You painted the case screws.... No one else noticed it but I love it. It's the little details that count. Paint looks amazing.
Thanks, Everest. I wondered if anyone would notice. I put them on a magnet hanging from the basement ceiling so that I could paint all sides of them. The paint will chip over time, but I wanted it to look good at least when I took the pictures.
QUOTE(philmccan @ Jul 2 2006, 10:19 PM)
Really great paint job. I like contrast of color, one light color and on dark color.
Thanks!

How many lights did you put in that jewel?
16.
I used a pringles lid. I was able to do it with very little wire. I just bent the legs of the LED's and soldered them together in parallel. Here are some pictures, if you're interested.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm glad you all like it.
Speaking of the last post, I have been thinking about doing a couple of controllers to match. Green on the top, white on the back. What do you think?
