I got it, fixed my skins problem, but it still takes about 6 seconds to load after IGR/Reboot. I did notice that the new .xbe is larger....cant wait to check it all out.

I think the IGR hangs are over (at least for me), but the menu is now "transparent" without the former "black outline" on the letters..  is there a way to enable this again? (at skin level or at config.xml level)

Thx!

Btw: each new version of UnleashX gets better and better!!! thanks again unleashx!

heh...not sure this was meant to be used by you all...laugh.gif

Well if that is true.. then it should be put in a seperate... password protected... ftp... but hey.. I personally think that having everyone be able to test it out as it's developed is great...

lol...well this is where he normally put it for the beta testers....but only takes time before someone found and posted it wink.gif

Not sure if he'll leave future beta tester releases on Xbins or find a private source wink.gif

It is very stable...but few things weren't working

i say if you want to tri it go ahead but a word of caution if you have a hard time recovering from a crash then it would be better for you to wait for the official releases.

The releases on that folder are for beta testers and some users I have contacted who had some major issues with the last release. The releases solely for beta testers are placed somewhere else.

You should take note that unofficial release are not tested thoroughly by me, nor the beta tester team. I upload new builds as I encounter problems from those who are testing it, so you can consider it unstable -in the sense that it hasn't been tested fully.

As is the case for trying out other beta builds of apps, be sure you can recover from anything.

Yes, the fonts, I'm not too happy with it too. It's the result of me having to expand it to include the upper 128 characters.

On another note, I just learned that Avalaunch has a new release and it is interesting to note that they have included X2 IGR control. Well, I just like everyone to know that this is available on the unofficial release since 02/02, thru action command. While the official release can easilly mimic the functionality, I added it nonetheless. The command is X2IGR_ON and X2IGR_OFF. I don't wanna divulge this information but I don't want to be accused of something else again, in the future. This is a classic example of what I've been saying all along -not because someone implemented it first doesn't mean others don't have the same idea.

Addtional commands that are already there: SetClock -to set the clock manually, like if you were to set it using the MS dash. You can do this right now from the settings menu, but I thought I make it easier. Xenium-OS -yes, support for Xenium -though I haven't tested it personally since I don't have a Xenium yet. Mike of Xenium contacted me a few weeks back asking if I could add the support in. Thanks goes to ozXChip/Xenium and XDASH-OS team for the ideas.

As always.. thank you unleashx for bringing a wonderful new dashboard to the scene...

Amen... and I just wanted to know if this is worth the upgrade to my primary dash or not. I think I would just stay with the "official" version. It should obviously be more stable!  tongue.gif

Yeah.. that's exactly what I'm guessing too... stilll they do 'seem' to play fine if I scroll slowly... but I do agree with you... it is probably due to the videos... I will take the time someday to convert them to xmv and see if it changes any thing (since I've heard that XMV files play much smoother, it might make a difference).

How is this preview renaming used?  I've not seen an option for it?  Is this where I can change from preview.wmv to (whateverIwant).wmv?  I'd kind of like to change my vids to mxm_ss.wmv simply because I had already burned all of my backups to dvd with this format already on them.

Thanks

unleashx has just added a some code to look for a few different names for vids so that a mxm_ss.wmv file will play without having to rename them to preview.wmv
This is great news as now both dashes can work with each others files with no fuss.

A big round of  beerchug.gif for UnleashX for providing this feature. I know MXM will be up and running soon with preview.wmv compatibility.

See great minds do think alike!  biggrin.gif  beerchug.gif

Woot...this is fantastic news.  Consider the next round of  beerchug.gif  on me.

I tried 020604 at first and while it seemed to have fixed all the lockup-problems, it didn't seem te be able to save any settings and always reverted back to the default skin. Background music also didn't seem to work (as I couldn't turn it on since the settings wouldn't save) and none of my apps/games on F: were detected.

The 020904 version, however, works perfectly. I tested this version the same way as the previous ones (lots of skin-switching, playing with the background music settings, rebooting, etc) and it works perfectly -- it hasn't locked up once, background music works perfectly, apps/games are all detected, etc. .I've been unable to locate any problems with it.

Great work!

TT

This was a bug in 020604 when it's being run from drive F or G, which was fixed in 020904. Running it in C or E is fine though -not that it matters anymore. This was a result of me changing the default value for DriveF Enabled to False, trying to achieve compatibility with older BIOSes.

Dah... that's kind of a silly thing to 'waste' time on... people that can flash their BIOSes... just need to upgrade.. the latest 4981 BIOS is the rockin' anyway... and yes.. I know.. some cannot flash their BIOSES, cause they have a chip that can't be flashed, but they can still flash their TSOP.... and get around this.. also.. most of the software hacks, either use a new enough BIOS or can be updated to the latest X2.. so they should be OK.. to....

Just downloaded the unofficial Version, installed it, rebooted and checked by pushing the Y button the version number it says: 0.26.0119A ?

Did I miss something? Do I have to clear some cache or does the unofficial not display the version correctly ?

No, that's right. I don't change build number for unofficial releases, I have an internal version number for that.
