i ordered on 12/18 and also talked to some jerk on the phone today, he told me that they *might* ship on friday, or *maybe* next monday.. he seemed to think that this is perfectly acceptable... so i told him to cancel my order and to reverse the charge to my cc, he told me the order was cancelled, and they'd refund my money *soon*.. so i asked how soon.. his response "we might do it on friday, or maybe next monday".. ARGH!@$ so now i'm looking for someone to order from.. doesn't have to be a matrix either, i'd love an x2lite, or even just a cheapmod solution would be fine..

Found spotted horse and decided I'll use that $12 savings to take the wife to Burger King one night and give her a special treat (humor if you didn't get it).
Anyway, cancelled via email to EasyBuy the next day. Got a quick response back saying order cancelled.
Now, will just ensure my CC isn't ever billed.
But, they responded with quick email to cancel an order.
Whether a completed order at EasyBuy actually makes it to your home is another story, I can't speak to that.

I called and cancelled my order on the 1/15 and they took the money out of my account on the 1/15 after I had already cancelled. I will wait until next week begins and their office opens back up before I get any more upset. What will I do if they are closed for good; how will I get my money back?

I know these guys personally, and have a few on my ICQ contact list. As of Thursday I lost regular contact with them, which was usually on a daily basis.
I was however able to contact the owner of easybuy today and had a chance to ask him whats up.
He's very tight lipped, but he did say they were still in business and have a problem they cannot discuss. He also said they hope to make an announcement on Monday.
Now 1 or more of the following scenarios may have played out
1. They took the loot and left town (highly unlikley) as they would stand to make more $$$ by staying in business
2. They got heat over thier sale of satellite testing devices (possible) a lot of dealers in Canada have been nailed over the last few months for this
3. Got heat from Sony or MS about the modchips (very possible) "Lik-sang ring a bell?"
4. Abducted by Aliens "Sure why not"
All this is speculation, but what is a fact is that something did happen and we will probly know this week
Easybuy2000 is not a bad company, they are NOT scammers
I think in my opinion they grew a little too fast and a little too big too handle the logistics of such a large business, E.G. wholesaleing, marketing, sales, purchasing, distribution, support, management, etc.
Be patient, and wait these guys will do whatever they can to stay in business and fufill all pending orders

I wonder. When Lik-Sang got Lik-Sang'ed word spread instantly. Easybuy had stated acting shaky a few weeks ago. Giving out bogus tracking numbers and claiming they've shipped and reshipped and reshipped doesn't smell like a bust, it smells like a scam.
Add to that their staff just disappearing on the 15th and one wonders even more.
I notified my CC company of the fraud. Since it was only $65 they will probably just write it off.

But look at it another way, easbuy2000 is a money maker
It would be the equivalant of Microsft selling bogus copies of windows XP and taking off with the loot.
In that case they would stand to make more money by selling legit copies rather than going for a qucik scam.
Something has happened beyond thier control, now what is at issue is how they handle the situation, whatever it may be.
Do they step up to the plate and tackle the problem or do they run and hide from it. Thats the issue.

Then the heat got turned up on that market, so I wanted out
My site made a lot of money for easybuy2000 buy running thier ads and they did not want to lose the revenue
so they bought my site.
So looking for something new I decided to start selling modchips, which I bought from them with the money they gave me for the site.
Thats my relationship with easybuy, they did help me get started but thats all. I am independant and operate on my own.

this really blows ass, i ordered a matrix a couple of weeks before x-mas for myself and finally recieved it on the 7th of Jan. Well after i got it and showed some friends how easy it was to install/program and whatnot....they wanted one too. SOOO i got their money and placed another order last week. As of now my credit card still isnt processed, and their little moderator "bailey3" hasnt responded to my tracking questions. Im thinking about just cancelling this order and getting them from Gamebuy.com. I'm just hoping that this retailer isnt as shitty as eb2k. My gripe is....why didnt they take down their order form if they knew they were not going to be able to process orders? That would have saved me from my current situation. I'm pretty much stuck. I do not want to have to pay 30 bucks to stop payment and I do not want my money tied up for months while this shit plays out. Not to mention, can you imagine the delay that this is going to cause? Tons of people are requesting their orders be cancelled and probably hundreds more orders are being placed every day. We will be lucky to see our chips within the next few months. Utter bullshit.
Not to mention...I've read so many stories on the EB2K forums of people recieving damaged product and having a hell of a time either getting their money back or being sent a replacement. Gah, I just want to cancell my order...but they screw you in the ass that way too. Order cancellations are charged 4% of the price of the order. I should just stop payment and get an X2:lite

Well it is now just a few hours from friday...first it was monday...then it was wednesday...then it was friday....now on their forum someone posted it would probably be next monday before they were able to get their shit together. Yes, maybe it was a mistake on Xodus part to choose easybuy2000 to handle their product, but they may not have had any choice. They had to find a company that was willing to invest in their idea and handle the manufacture and marketing of it. Most people think Xodus handles the manufacturing of the chips and then sells to easybuy2000, but this is not the case. Xodus simply gave the plans to easybuy2000 and easybuy2000 handled the rest. This is why easybuy2000 is the sole distributor of the Matrix.

As a customer I know that you pay for your product and you want the thing. I know all about that because I got scammed by hackershardware.
If you are really in a hurry to mod your box then ask easy buy to refund your money and order from somewhere else. Of course you probably couldn't get a matrix anywhere else.
I think the best alternative is if you are willing to spend $60 on the matrix save a little money and get an xecuter 2 lite. With the headerpin or just soldering the wires to the lpc it's really easy. It's easier than aligning your matrix. I've done both and I like my matrix but if I were you I'd go with the x2l.

I am calling my bank today to get my charge cancelled. From what I heard you have 1 month to get the charge cancelled from an internet purchase, and that month is almost up. You do not charge a customer for something until you actually ship it!
I am cancelling the charge, making a complaint with the Better business bureau, and I am also going to look into pressing some fraud charges. I am sure if we get a few people together we can win this one!

I ordered a matrix on the fourth of this month.... BEFORE i found out about their little problems... Well i sent an email to cancel sunday night, Monday afternoon status had been updated to 'processing', so i gave em a call.... I will say this: I was only on hold about a minute and a half before someone answered, and the guy was quite polite and cancelled my order for me...... I canceled yesterday and ordered from mods4less. There was glitch in the system so I don't have shipping confirmation or anything yet, but I did receive a mailing letting me know it is being worked on. That in itself is already better service than I have gotten from easybuy.

From the way they seem to go here, I think they're run by anti-American French Canadians with some half-assed agenda to drive the US public up the wall with a barrage of "it will ship next week" "customer service" (and I use that term VERY loosely) bullshit.
After 3 weeks, 3 "it'll ship next week" replies, and 1 "you haven't been charged" excuse (even though I was charged a day after the order), I canceled my order with them. I now have 2 chips, one installed, one spare. One ordered from mods4less.com ($60.04 total with next day delivery, still more then $4 cheaper than easybuy) and another from basic88 from this board.
The only way I'll order from them again is if all BIOS become 256+k and they are an exclusive chameleon dealer.

Easybuy is the sole distributor, but the sattelite equiptment only held them up for one month and things are running a bit better. If Easybuy did make the chips the feds would have shut the site down quicker than isonews.

Also does customs care about Mod chips? Will they sieze it?

wow a whole 6 DAYS. My god, Easybuy should be shot. OMG 6 DAYS and the fact that they refuse to work on non-business days is unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just for being an impatient idiot, lets hope you don't get your chip at all
