If you know what you're doing 0.48.64 does the job fine, and Kai VII works without the need of a kai enabled dash (as i understand it). |
The main issue is with people who don't have a PC near their TV (my server running Kai will be located on a totally different floor). This is why Bo-Xlink was so popular with XLink as it allowed joining and searching games from the Xbox. This functionality is now going to be integrated into dashboards (XBMP and Avalaunch). So basically the drive is to get a new version of our favorite dash that supports Kai.
This is the issue that is driving the curiosity anyway. Personally, I'm sure it will be out soon enough and I have more than enough going on in my life to keep me busy.

Yep, he's got it... and lets not forget the fact that the newer xbox remote does not work with Avalaunch and is supposed to be fixed in the new release.

NIMBLES: as an albeit more basic developer myself , it f*cking bugs me when people ask questions like these. |
dude, don't flame me... you read this post out of curiosity wondering if maybe someone actually provided me with a release date. Don't act like you didn't. And as far as a "more basic developer", following a template once on a hacked ver of Visual Studio .net that you downloaded from your favorite file sharing utility does not constitute a "developer". So please do not take me for an idiot or a twelve your old kid. I am a long experienced IT specialist. I am not a developer or programmer, although I have been known to throw some code together at work and home, I am still no developer.

sorry was very pissed when i wrote that having read it in the cold light day it was a bit ott.
as for what i do no its not like that, its financial modelling software- like i said not high end stuff like this is-
but my sentiments about when it comes out are that it should come out when its good and ready- Kai implementation i can live without for the moment although i see ChrisF's point about pc and xbox in different rooms- what with the hoo ha of caused over the previous releases i would prefer they iron out any bugs before making a release some people don't seem to get the idea of alpha software, and the whole responsibility issue- there were just so many "avalaunch f*cked up my xbox" posts here it was untrue
The new Avalaunch will be out on [rumor]. This is a good date so lets all be patient and give them our support....

*- The date above is my uneducated guess only and does not represent any views or statements by the Avalaunch Team
Edit by Devenic: This is NOT true. We will release when we're ready.
who whie it will be out in 9 day´s
Its out when ist out, so simpel is it, it always have been this way, you can not change it.
It'll be out when it's ready. Personally I've had a little economic setback, so I've developed less and worked more.

An experienced IT specialist asking when a piece of software that will support another piece of software will be released - when the supported software isn't even released yet (or wasn't when the thread strated)
Interesting

or a kind of beta version with xlink support....... |
errrr.... well avalaunch is currently pre-alpha so beta would be a big step
afraid XBMC is the only option for Kai affcianado's at the moment
A lot of Ava's delays are my fault - messing with the protocol at the last minute, and still not having provided proper docs on it. TJ is basically having to reverse engineer the win32 UI at the moment to find out whats going on. Kai seems to be slowly setting down, and most bugs are out - so I'll hopefully be more useful from now on.
Don't rush the guys - they're making good time imo, and you will be more than impressed with the result.
TD
So is the result of integrating xlink kai into avalaunch going to be like connecting to a tunneled game within avalaunch and then launching it? Is a seperate computer running kai required?
i'm itching for the current ava code. I will sent a gmail invite to an Ava dev if they let me contribute to the extensive beta testing.
