always makes me laugh what people on this forum call techno. my guess its because Eminem had that dig at moby "nobody listens to techno" fyi Moby tunes are not techno

Try also Manuel Göttsching - E2:E4. A ground breaking album from 1981.
But he specifically asked for 'techno' - and mentioned the Blade soundtrack. And even though 76:14 & KLF Chill Out are some of my favorite albums, I doubt the poster was looking for ambient
I'd steer him in the direction of Dave Clarke - his 'Archive One' album from '96 is a classic. Also Jeff Mills' Live At The Liquid Rooms Tokyo. Blindin' mix. A few good techno artists:

The Advent
Vitalic
NOTE! These are pure techno artists - as I understand the genre 'techno'. I left out trance and lighter stuff. These are hardcore beatmeisters - especially Vitalic.
A good idea would be to grab the first three Orbital albums if you like soundtracky stuff. Can't go wrong with them.

No, but from the sound of what he was asking for, I figure he could use a good bake and trip out to KLF and Global while watching the VoodooLights screensaver!
