If you have access to another source, try that.  (IE cable box with dvi or a dvd player with dvi.  I say with dvi to elimate that component to dvi lead that you bought)   If it still persist, you might want to get your television serviced.  If this tv is old and out of warrentee, you might want to think about getting new tv.    But first see if you still have the same problem when you try a new source first.



Edit:

I would hate to see you get rid of a television if it were to have cabling issues or you 360 was acting up.

Strange... (and scary at the same time)

My setup, oddly enough, exhibited the same symptoms before I replaced my aging CRT RPTV.  Though, now I don't have the video switched through the reciever anymore, but connected directly via VGA.  So I don't know whether the problem was TV related or RECIEVER related.  If not already that way, try connecting the video directly to the TV and not through your reciever and see if that changes anything...
