doesn't it say on the manual not to use projection TVs with game console...

that's only CRT based projection sets because they're far more prone to burn in and Games have lots of HUDs that easily burn into sets like that.

My guess is the bulb crapped out, they only have a 2K to 4K lifespan anyway, even shorter if you frequently turn it on and off and don't run in economy mode.

If it IS actually a CRT based RPTV then my guess is it's the high voltage power board. Considering CRT projectors have 3 separate tubes and if it was a tube failure you'd see a color drop out rather then the whole screen disappear.

expect to pay anywhere from $200-$500 to get that thing fixed.

Also... moving to the HDTV forum.

Not necessarily.   It doesn't have to be the power supply board.   If it has a serparate convergence board, the convergence ICs could of went bad and took out a couple resistors.  In all reality, it could be anything.
