Never had rrod I just sell Xenons cheap when I get them because they are known for problems. No fan mod, no new thermal paste just normal Xenon jtagged.

The short answer is no, its not normal. There are several factors that play into the boot time including the type of console, type of chip, and the install. If someone installed the chip and didn't optimize the wires going to the cpu then long boot times can occur. This is why I test all the system I sell and make sure they boot as quickly as possible EVERY TIME YOU POWER ONE ON. Unless a system just won't glitch there is no reason for 1 in 10. Chances are the person that did the install didn't make the cpu wire long enough and thats why your boot times are inconsistent. Do you have any photos of the instal?

Typical Adam always trying to get the last word. You were brought up in a PM which I forwarded to you. Furthermore the guy came to me asking for help because of my knowledge and reputation on x-s. He stated his system would only boot 1 out of 10 times and always took over 1 minute to boot no matter what. I offered some suggestions on how he could try and reduce the boot times and told him the proper way to reboot the system when it doesn't boot (pull power for 15 seconds). You can say I was trying to make you look bad but I just stated the information that was brought to me and offered some help. Thanks for the fee bumps.

lol... The video above does show the system booting 2 times in a a row actually. Watch until the end, I am using a media center remote in the video so maybe its difficult to see. Jaspers boot pretty quick no matter what, Slims are the slowest because the glitch signal being sent is much faster (30 nano seconds). I will take another video of a Jasper put together using the power button so its more clear

Team-Xecuter now ships a capacitor with all Coolrunner chips and it drastically reduces the Jasper boot times, as you can see from the video
BTW, does the power has to be disconnected to boot fast?

Slims are always going to take longer because the margin for the signal to be right from the chip is much smaller then any other system. All the slims I do boot in 10-20 seconds with the occasional longer boot. All systems are different but if a system doesn't glitch in under a minute consistently I don't sell it.

Disconnecting the power supply shouldn't change anything unless you are having problems getting a system to boot then you should unplug the power for 15 seconds and re try. I disconnected the power in the video to show that the system was completely off, also when you shut off a system with the power button it takes a while before the fans shut off and the system is actually powered off (fans usually spin for an additional 4-5 seconds).

As stated I install the latest freeboot 13604 (currently the most recent version). I keep a copy of your original nand and cpu key but cannot guarantee I will keep it forever, I like to email the files to my buyers rather than include a disc (going green lol).

The 4-5 second boot times are rare in slim and even those select few consoles that boot so fast can still have slower boot times on occasion, its just the nature of the mod because it has to physically glitch. Most slims I do are around 15 seconds but each system is different.
