Title: Xbox Communicator/puck Mod For An Audio In Jack?
Post by: i_robot on August 02, 2005, 02:44:00 PM
i remember seeing in a buy sell trade thread maybe a month and a half or a month ago a puck that had been modded so that the actual puck had an audio in jack.

im looking for some info on this or maybe a tutorial. i tried searching, but couldnt find anything.

thanks in advance.

Keep searching, it's there. Check the tut's section also. Search for things like Audio, input, puck, communicator, etc. Why should we have to do your search for you?

I couldn't find out how to do this either in the tutorials section and would be very intrested in it since I have the halo2 headset and it blocks the sound out of one ear.

this is what one dude told me.
I took apart a broken cd player sized down the jack and wired the audio in jack to the mic solder point on the communicator

thats what one guy told me that was selling one on the b/s/t forums.

davegregoire: thank you dude. :) yeah its all original work. you can hit me up at aim and im going to PM you my email. :)

that was me :)

I kinda just made this up, i was bored.  I think there is a better way to do it, to get a more crisp sound but basically, all i did was:

1.  Take apart my broken cd player
2. Remove the audio in jack
3. Dremel the jack down so that it would fit in the communicator
4. Run a wire from the jack to the mic solder point on the communicator

http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/2-headsets.php

3rd entry in search for headset in tuts section. Try harder next time "son".

Replace headset wires with input jack and thats all you need to know.

I dont think that's what he was looking for, he was looking for my communicator.

He's looking for a communicator puck with an aditional input jack? Well you just replace the wires that go to the headset with wires that would go to an input jack. This one shows the solder points etc.

When did I get mad? I told him to search in tuts. Exactly where I found it. Then he snapped at me.

But I'm done with this thread, no point in wasting more time on this.
