Starting to look really good! Keep it up. |
and people thought nexgen looked horid, how wrong they were.
Well at least we got rid of all those "This looks shite my granny could do better with a busted hip" people, not one bad word so far :D (A nice change for the forums)
This week I will have shots of the finished main menu (I hope), and maybe a few other menus for your comments (in very early progress).
I been away, so progress has been slow last week. Full steam ahead now though.

Full Steam, as I said............
Oh, yeah and here's the main menu for you Skinners to get a start on :P
Enjoy !
Worth noting that the updated rendering isn't applied to this (yet) So I had to do a little trickery with the crosshair to make it look like it does. So it don't look quite as M$ one does when it rotates, but it will eventually.

Very nice !!!
But where is the FOG ?
This post has been edited by athloni on Sep 6 2004, 09:58 PM
The fog isn't there because hes using a very old build from the first neXgen and it didn't support it.
I don't see the point in this as LUA has completely gone from the new neXgen.
Tra..
just tried em and they look great PID. the orbring, podshell and podsupports (or (whatever in nexgen terminology) look spot on! :D this is gonna b good!!
The point is to get feedback from the skinners about how the models are mapping. No point in putting models into the new neXgen if the skins don't map onto them properly, I don't have time to check all the mapping and model the new menus too.
Enter Gasclown :)
Or we could just wait till the new one is finished then go through the process of checking the models, would take a while I can tell you.
Also releasing them keeps the interest levels up in neXgen in general. Or I can keep posting screens of what I'm doing for feedback, just thought people would like to see em in the flesh, so to speak, and I wanted to get rid of the real basic neXgen screens off the BSX website.
My last reason, is I have spent over a month modelling for neXgen, I wanted to show people how good it was already, all it needed was a nice skin to be more pallettable, even without better rendering, fog etc etc.
Also g0at3r, you'll notice the crosshair is now in subsets :D
