Title: 1080i Supported On All Games?

QUOTE
What resolutions will game developers be required to support?
Game developers are only required to support 720p.

Does this mean I need an HDTV that supports 720p to play all of the Xbox360 games?
No. Despite the fact that developers are only required to support 720p the video encoder chip built into the Xbox360 has the ability to up-scale and down-scale games to any of the resolutions supported by the Xbox360. This means that even if a game was only developed in 720p you will have the ability to play it in 480i, 480p, or 1080i as well as 720p.

For the last time, don't bother with 1080p. Virtually othing supports it for the price you pay for it.

Get a nice 720p or 1080i set and you'll be fine.

I like 720p better because of the lack of scanlines, but if you are running on a larger screen, 1080i might look better (assuming it is native) because you will get much more detail.
I don't have alot of experience, but I am more than fine with 720p.

Put your monitor into 1280x1024 and view 1280x720 pictures in full screen.

I would reccomend a 720p dlp set since that is Xbox360's native res.

To be honest when shopping for a DLP set or really any other HD sets, visit the avsforum.com.

The reason you are not finding 1080i DLP sets is because there are none.  All DLPs are progrssive scan (720p or 1080p).  CRT sets are 1080i usually.

There is no 73" crt, they only go up to 40" I believe and that was a sony that has since been discontinued for a 38" model......

It would have to be close to 5 or 6 feet deep for that to be true.  It's most likely DLP or a rear projector.

Me: you know, in milliseconds. It's how fast the crystals reset on this lcd, that's how they measure response time of this tv. Like 16 or 25 ms.

Guy: They don't measure response time of Tv's.
