Title: No Dolby Digital For Htdv Packs?
Post by: Mr M Crowley on August 17, 2005, 05:57:00 PM
When I saw the pictures of the HDTV packs for the 360 today, I saw conections to use HDTV's and Higher quality TV's (using s-video) and even an VGA cable for computer monitors.

This all seems great, but both the RGB HDTV cable and The VGA monitor cable have the RED and WHITE componet plugs for audio? I need optical toslink to make my DTS work. So is it a choice of HD video OR Digital sound? Not Both?

I don't get it! I hope that I can use my computer monitor (22" Sony Trinitron Color Corrected Graphics Monitor) and a decent Creative labs 5.1 system (Dolby decoder built in).

It seems like I get Computer Monitor OR Dolby digital, not both?

Notice how the wire come out one end of the plug? that's to make room for the optical outlet... don't worry ALL AV cables will have it  wink.gif
