A few niggles - some tearing, on the VGA cable connected to the monitor there's some wierd black band on cutscenes that looks plastered on in an attempt to thin the screen down but leaves a shutter-like crack at the top for the game to seep through. It also seems a bit stretched out which makes me think the ratio is off. The fps also drops considerably in some places - but not enough to effect gameplay. Any issues with the camera were my own fault for dicking around.
That said, despite all this it really looks great. Not realistic, but then, it's not meant to be. It just looks sexeh.
I've also got the PC version here running on a mid-spec machine. It actually has more glitches, so I'm glad I opted for the 360, but I do miss the higher res. That said, the effects are actually far more subtle on the xbox, which comes off as realistic - particularly when Lara gets wet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) The other thing is the xbox version feels tighter, whilst the PC with a gamepad even with the settings changes feels very loose to me.
What DOES get me was the gameplay. The demo is really smooth, and if the full title is anything like this then count me in. There is, of course, the possibilty that the minor FPS issues are ok in the full version, as will Full Auto. That said I could put up with them if the rest of the game is as good as the demo.
Forgot to mention, great soundtrack. But I'm a soundtrack geek. It's nice not to have a soundtrack on an action game completely composed of heavy metal riffing - it actually reminds me of Jack Wall's work on Myst III Exile.

Has anyone figured out how to dive into water yet from a cliff? Ive only played a few minutes of it and am hooked.
DL took 3 damn hours but atleast I know what Im getting into next week when the game arrives!

all i can say is i plan on having 50/50 oblivion achievements, and my celebration will be to play Tomb Raider, given gamefly sends it day one. (had an open spot for 2 weeks waiting for it)

graphics - from waterfall to swimmin in the water and to the cave lighthing and lara getting wet...rock formation and shadowing is just amazing..its a big jump next generation i think..
sounds - if you have surround sound use it... its crazy ambient music and sound effects makes you feel like your in her world
gameplay - if you love the first two..... then you'll love this game...solving puzzles and the jumpin lara is back in my opinion..lots of moves and action but then again its just the demo
review of demo - overall it was a great experience made me feel like i never left the series..the bad guys could get use of a little more AI in em but im not complainin bout that..its the adventure and landscapes that captured me...
thats my two cents.. imma pick this up over battlefield 2 still....and far cry...hahahhahaaaa

And to think they missed out on such a great 3 year run!I'll never forget playing the one on DC for 20 minutes and realizing it was crap and returning it, my Lara had faded away into Oblivion(ahem).

i think you gotta hold the left shoulder button (not trigger) then press & hold jump forward, same with flip handstand when climbing. shit 100% sure though cos at work now, but done it few time last nite.

My ONLY gripe is that it's a port. I really want to see CrystalD step up to the plate and slam a nextgen only TR:L2 out of the park. However, I'm taking and running with what they've delivered. It's better than Core's last 3 or 4 offerings COMBINED.
I think I wasted 15 minutes just trying to do her dive. I got the vertical flip down pat (just hold A for a few seconds while hanging and she'll do it). I can't wait to find a cliff to dive off of into some water (water optional

wish i could say the same, my download was taking so long that i stopped it twice because i was getting sick of waiting. its weird because i have downloaded demos twice the size in half the time it took for this one.
