Post by: |-|obbes on April 23, 2004, 06:12:00 PM
I know this is the craziest idea anyone has had, but tell me whatcha thinK:

So, your favorite PSX game doesnt work ok on pcsxbox?
Would running bleem in a winex type program (one that runs wndows progs) within linux work?

also, how do u adjust frameskip and that stuff on pcsxbox, need the settings for gran turismo 2 (awesome game)

Yes it would run perfectly at 2 frames a month!

Is there anyway we could slow that down to 1 frame a month?

..but then again, you'd also need to be emulating win32 within linux, which is already slow, then running a win32 application designed to emulate radically different hardware.

I think by the time it cranked out a second frame, you'll be asking when we can emulate PS4.

This isnt such a bad idea ...

Wine Is Not an Emulator (hence the name) .. In theory it can run windows programs as fast (or faster) than windows running on the same hardware. In practice this may not be the case though :)

Has anyone actually tried it ? Would bleem suck on a 733mhz windows PC anyway ? Interesting idea ...

I hate you burst your bubble but bleem didnt even run as many games as pcsxbox did. You are better off trying to run epsxe in linux usiong the linux version of epxse.

well actually i have gran turismo 2 and it doesnt workl well with pcsxbox, its all garbled when ur racing, so i figured since i cant run bleem on my pc anyway (win xp and its "not vaild win32 app" shit) why not try it in linux? and on my xbox?

eh, would just dual boot my pc, but frankly, i dont have the HD space (20gbs on a 2.4mhz Geforce4 box, and expecting to make iso's)

epsxe over wine runs pretty much the same as the native linux version....but thats a moot point since there is a native version to begin with

Maybe you should give VGS a try,its still the fastest emu around as far as  software emulation goes so if it runs well under wine, you are set.
