Title: Did You See This ?
Post by: krayzie on December 27, 2005, 08:18:00 AM
how is this different from the earlier demo discs that were unsigned and not media flagged too? So far all you can do is burn it and run it. Hacking the disc is not that easy. Flaws need to be found and ALL securties ms made to prevent anything have to be circumvented. Seems all like nearly impossible to me (for now)

They are still signed....just with no media flag so they can be burned to any media and then booted.  The executable is still signed people...get it through your heads...UNSIGNED CODE WILL NOT BOOT ON THE 360.

do you think that it may be possible to replace the files in the demo games folders with games and then boot them using the menu that will be on the disc?

surely each folder has its own xex file and the original xex demo disc menu file will point to one of these files on the disc?

might be worth giving a go, possibly?????

it says in the nfo there's no media check and none of the files are signed allowing easy modification

Ok, people should understand one thing: EVERY SINGLE executable that runs on other xboxes than the debug ones IS SIGNED. DATA files don't need to be signed.

Just tried swapping the Hexic flash swf with another flash file, didn't work for me, but it might be possible to make a Flash game disc. The hexic swf seems like a regular flash swf and it can be decompiled with flash tools. Someone might want to look into it... I just want to sleep...
