It's being made by Obsidian Entertainment, with Chris Avellone as the main designer. He was the main designer on Planescape Torment, and quite frankly every single RPG the Obsidian crew is responsible for (formed by the best designers from the now defunct Black Isle Studios) is great.
These guys also have a history of taking Bioware engines, and making better games with them.
This game will be better than KOTOR:1.

its cool that in KOTOR 2 you start out as a jedi, and I've read that the core gameplay hasn't been messed with much, which is a good thing. The story should be awesome, there's supposed to be twists in it bigger then the whole revan thing in KOTOR 1, and thats just on the first planet.

it looks like the main problem is that its on the same engine as the first, so the graphics are the same.

Man who cares about the graphics...as long as the game is good... I could give a crap about the graphics, look at all the awesome classic games on NES or SNES or 64 or PSX or anything else, its just gotta be a good over all game for me.

i didn't mean to say the graphics suck, I was stating was teamxbox says. and personaly i'm glad the main thing the reviewer had to bitch about was the engine.
As for the fighting system it took me awhile to get over my FPS syndrom, KOTOR was the first real rpg i had ever actually gotten into and played through completly.
it is different though, but I love it
