Title: The Championship Thread
Post by: chilin_dude on August 10, 2004, 01:46:00 PM
So now the season has kicked off, Leeds United (my team) are currently 7th after a win which was very good.
So is there any one you're supporting in the Championship?

I'm sure, given the hooligans that promulgate the Soccer fan community, I need to take a pre-emptive warning shot across the bow here....

Hooligans? We're all well-mannered educated adults, although we do let our emotions slip a bit... happy.gif

Toon Army all the way!! (Newcastle United for the less well informed)

considering that this thread seems to be based pretty much only on English (and Welsh laugh.gif ) football, it has to be said that English supporters behave a lot better than a lot of other European supporters (cough...Italians..cough... wink.gif ) - at least when at matches.

BTW, does anyone think Arsenal can manage to win every game of the season?

Yeah, italians are really bad losers. If you remember euro2004, Sweden played against Denmark. If the result ended 2-2, Italy wouldn't go to the quarters. It did end 2-2 and Italy seriously claimed it was a nordic conspiracy. And a couple of weeks ago, Roma vs dynamo Moskva had to stop because a swedish referee got an object thrown on his head. He started to bleed a lot. And now the italians claim that had to do with the nordic conspiracy again laugh.gif  They are seriously sick in their heads if they think that. Anyway, the swedish top league, Allsvenskan is soon over. My team Änglarna, or IFK Gothenburg, seem not to win, but I sure hope they will.

Watching American "football" is like watching Dynasty.

Watching soccer is like watching a dryer run...with no clothing in it.

Watching American football is like watching Retards playing Rugby while being padded head to foot to ensure they don't get a lil itchy witchy scratch.

Back on topic:

I'm going to the Leeds vs Stoke match tonight  smile.gif Its going to be my first match of the season, I hope we win... Hopefully Ormrod will come good  smile.gif

Association Football, or "Soccer" as you Americans call it is a far more entertaining game than watching a bunch of overpadded wannabe Rugby players, run for 10 seconds (if your lucky) and then spend the next 10 minutes working out what to do next.
