 get on msn sometime ;). <
I would but you're never there bitch!! <
Rock puts out the most shit. Rap/Hip-Hop gives us nothing but shit, but at least it caters to a certain group. With rock you have different sub-divisions. You have the punk rock kids, the emo kids, the goth kids, etc. It's all different styles of the same bullshit. <
POP <
That is a given, that is why it is called pop. <

Ya it was kind of a joke. As in, to be POP is to have been exploited. Despite the genre. Can't be mass popular if you haven't heard it before ya know what I mean...
<
now that's a hard question. pop and rap/hip-hop are the same shit to me. people who can't sing nor play an instrument are trying to make money fast. <

You nailed it right on the head. I honestly believe, especially in Pop, some of these "artists" don't even belief in their OWN talent, but it's a terrific way to get rich.
I'd say that of mainstream genres, rock has historically turned out the most talent, however, jazz and blues top it (but aren't considered 'mainstream'). Notice I said historically... nowadays, great mainstream bands and musical talent are few and far between at best, since you really only see and hear bands as pushed by record companies. With that being said, the best bands in rock still are at least ten years old. Many of them are just posers with guitar picks, like Good Charlotte. But, rap-rock has trashed the rock genre for now, especially in America, and that scar will last quite a while in my book. The Australians and various European sources are still crankin' out some good rock. That is until our American noise pollutes their radio waves, as well.
In pop and hip/hop, well, it's all the same formulaic, cookie-cutter bull sh*t.

Greek Music!
that stupid "OPA!" song.........
the greeks are coming!....how creepy is a greek? <
Rock has "progressed" into the same recycled BS.
Rap has always been about the same recycled BS.
I've never listened to rap, don't care for it much at all, but rock , metal, etc.. has all gotten so old, so fast. All I have listened to for the past 6 months or so, The Beatles, 311, and AC/DC. <
rap used to be good back in the day in the late 80's early 90's.
big daddy kane, eric b & rakim, nwa, geto boys.........
now rap just sucks. when genuine first came out, everybody had to have that same sound. rap hasnt been the same since.

i liek tool, they dont seem to have as much shit as other crappy bands, and they are pretty original
I like bohemian Rhapsody... its a classic
Hip-Hop.
You cant say anything else. Pop music is becoming Hip-Hop. Rock is dying. Trance WTF? True R&B has never been popular. Rap is not TV freindly. Hip-Hop is having more of an influence than any kind of music ever period. With that comes problems because for every talented band there is 5 that are just there to cash in on the fad (think rock in the 80s only multiply it times ten).
I love Hip-Hop but it is truly exploited now because its by far the most popular music so company know that they can market it the easiest. Anywhere you go the have Hip-Hop influences its really weird.
Hip Hop and Rap are the most exploited, so many useless crap spewing artists are showing up, and people like Nelly continue to fill it with shit, then there is stuff I can't even imagine why people like, like Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like Its Hot". Worst excuse for music I have ever heard
But really, thats happening alot today, Rock is filling up with crap artists really quick, and there is just alot of crap artists PERIOD.
I'd say rap is by far the most exploited even though it's not what I like to listen to. I mean you've got snoop dog the gangsta celling you sidekick messenger cell phones for gods sake.
rock is pretty much churning out bullshit but it goes in stages. somebody makes a new sound and sells records soon everyone copies it and the radio gets saturated (80's hair bands, 90's grunge, 2000 rap metal)
that's why I only listen to yanni and kenny G
